The First Presbyterian Church Cookbook will be available soon. The cost for each book will be $15, plus $2 if the book will need to be shipped. Call the church office at 913-342-7225 to obtain more information.

Grandview Christian Church will host a Christmas concert by The Glory Generations at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9. Following the concert will be snacks and coffee. There also will be a visit by Santa.

Grandview United Methodist Church is accepting orders for poinsettias to decorate the Sanctuary on Sunday, Dec. 23. Place your order to honor someone special, remember a loved one, or just share a beautiful flower with the church. The price per flower will be $8 and the deadline for ordering will be Sunday, Dec 9. Telephone the church office at 913-299-3114 to make arrangements for your order.

The American Baptist Women of Judson Baptist Church will hold the Christmas program at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3. There will be a baked potato bar served. Program and devotions will be by Debra Bonds. Ladies are asked to bring new items for the Bethel Christmas shop.

“The Bethlehem Experience” will be presented by Parkway Baptist Church, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. from Thursday, Dec. 6, through Sunday, Dec. 9. The experience is an interactive walk-through tour of Bethlehem on the night Jesus was born. All ages, denominations and backgrounds are invited to experience this live presentation, which concludes at the stable.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will host a free concert of lessons in carols at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2. The American Guild of Organists of greater Kansas City and Kansas City, Kansas, Community College will sponsor the event. Refreshments will be served in the parish hall after the concert. The Episcopal Church Women and the Parish Life Committee are making arrangements for the annual St. Nicholas dinner to be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, in the parish hall. Trish Schurkamp, the director of the Wyandotte County Museum, will present a program about an old-fashioned Christmas.

The Stony Point Christian Church will sponsor a church bus trip to Longview Lake, leaving the church at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. Call Eldon Barnes at 913-24-2906 to reserve your seat. The church will hold all-church caroling at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec 2.

Trinity United Methodist Church will hold an Advent Vespers Series at 6 p.m. on Wednesday evenings, beginning Nov. 28 through Dec. 19. Each evening will begin with dinner, followed by a short concert featuring the music of the Holiday season. The church will hold Hanging of the Greens from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec 1.

The American Baptist Women of Victory Hills Baptist Church will hold its Christmas Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec 1, at Lone Star Steakhouse at Village West. Reservations need to be in by Sunday, Nov. 25. Telephone Judy at 913-299-4827 or the church office at 913-299-0555

White Church Christian Church will sponsor a bus trip to Jefferson City, Jan. 5 for the 25th annual Gospel Music USA. Payment of $35 will cover bus transportation and the program. Payment is due at the time of reservation. Telephone Duane Shaw at 913-788-7440 to sign up.

The United Methodist Women of Wyandotte United Methodist Church will meet for a Christmas party and cookie exchange from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Each lady is asked to bring three dozen Christmas cookies along with the recipe, and a container to take home three dozen cookies. All ladies of the church are encouraged to attend this celebration.

Zion United Church of Christ will hold Hanging of the Greens on Sunday, Dec. 2. To prepare for that day, volunteers are needed for prep work after the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Nov. 25.
